Yeah, my grow log is on another salvia forum. Some sites get pissed if you post other sites. All the questions you guys have about salvia can be answered there. Its the largest forum ive found yet. Its were i got my first cutting and found members that have the different strains.

So if the ruler of this site doesnt care, ill post the link. Other wise just look threw my pics on photobucket. I have pics from when i got the sorry little plant all the way threw having a butt load of salvia.

Yeah im in the same boat. I love growing plants, i dont usally partake in the consumtion of them. I grow san pedro and Lophophora williamsii as well. The lophophora grows slow as shit. Ive got about 20 different plants. Most arent ethno's.

I find the different strains very interesting. As far as posting links we don't allow links to other forums or sites that make any sales.

Sounds like you have a nice collection of plants. I cant wait till it warms up i want to start some seeds of a few ethno's
I found some wild dagga seeds and a few others.

I have some cacti seeds as well. I am thinking about putting them up for donations sometime.

I'd like to try growing that. Does it require a Brazilian Rainforest? BTW I just watched a Discovery Channel "Taboo" program on religious uses of substances that are outlawed to the general populace and there was a 10 minute or so segment about a Church in Brazil whose followers use Ayahuasca. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santo_Daime

The narrator likened that substance to DMT. Never tried either. They make a drink from it called Daime. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banisteriopsis_caapi.

To prepare it they start by beating (literally to shreds) a vine. Is that Vine supposed to come from the Banisteriopsis plants you YouTubed?

The plant must need to be pretty big to produce vines like those on the program! That's why I made the Brazilian Rainforest reference. Things grow reallllly big there! Not sure I'd be able to duplicate that in my back yard. Willing to give it a hell of a go, though!

However, the Discovery program says Ayahuasca is Schedule I in the U.S. of A except to followers of that religion I mentioned above.

Quoting from the article: "In addition to its hallucinogenic properties, caapi is used for its healing properties as a purgative, effectively cleansing the body of parasites and helping the digestive tract." Can't you just see their worms saying "Hey, WTF is this shit?" as they exit through the back door??

the caapi vine is the monoamine oxadise inhibitor and harmala alkaloid-containing part of the ayahuasca brew. it allows the ingested DMT to become active in the stomach instead of it immediately being broken down. banisteriopsis caapi is sometimes referred to (usually by the indigenous people) as ayahuasca by itself. some shamans claim that the DMT (usually in the form of psychotria viridis) is only added to give the visions more color and depth, and that the true visions lie in the vine itself. the indigenous will sometimes take a brew of caapi by itself and call it ayahuasca, which im sure is, like you said, used to treat intestinal parasites. i havent ever taken ayahuasca with caapi, ive used syrian rue instead, but yea, the harmala alkaloids sure as hell clean you out. harmala alkaloids on their own, from my experience, produce a very childhood dreamlike, tracer filled toilet of wonders. its hard to keep it down. it kinda feels like being drunk, but retaining an awareness. its hard to walk, and you really dont want to move because you feel like you are going to vomit, and it feels like someone injected your intestines with some sort of super lube oil. you might be able to grow it in your backyard part of the year depending on where you live, but as long as you set up a good controlled environment and do some research on its natural living conditions, you should only need a miniature rainforest

I get green sick just off of weed; I can only imagine what ayahuasca would do to me.

Jim: banisteriopsis caapi is great because it can use trees to reach higher heights. I hear it grows really slowly. I would be afraid to cut it because the upper parts might die when severed. You'd probably want to climb to its highest point to take cuttings.

Pipe you make the experience sound so pleasant ! I guess that's the price One must pay to be enlightened. I tried Peyote once and expected to get violently ill but did not. Also did not get much else.

I've considered trying it again via http://www.peyoteway.org and I have a friend who might join me in a "spirit walk" http://peyoteway.org/spiritwalk.php. If you look at that site they sell indian pottery with peyote illustrations all over them. Actually some very nice looking merchandise. But, again, I'm not spamming, just sharing. Anyhow they say their "spirit walking" guests often feel a bit ill.

I know a guy who did peyote for like 3 days. He had to drink his urine to keep his high. He was with a native american friend and the friend's grandparents trip sat them.

The guy I know found his spirit animal through that experience.

Also, Jim, it's not spam unless you're posting the same links over and over in an incessant, unnecessary manner (or in an unrelated way, like "Hey here's some info on salvia, go to yahoo.com" or something that makes no sense).
